Rise Commitments
Making a difference through the truth, hope and love of Jesus Christ.

We have seven basic commitments which guide and shape everything we do as Rise Church. We also believe they are valuable in helping every person on their life journey to become all they are called to be.

We are committed to being dependent on Christ
John 15:5 (NLT) Acts 2:42-44 (NIV)

We are committed to build a people whose foundation and faith are firmly based in a personal relationship with Christ. We are dependent on Christ and devoted to the church. It is important that we don’t flip this, for it is easy to become devoted to Christ and dependent on people or the church. While we are committed to love God and love people, we recognise that our leaders and people, in general, may not always be available or able to meet your needs or fulfil your expectations and this can lead to disappointment. If our dependence is on people our faith and daily walk can be shaken but with our dependence on Jesus, even if people do not always do what we hope or expect we will continue in our journey of faith and growth.

We are committed to walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:16 (NKJV)

Behaviour and belief are not our initial concerns with people. We want people to know they are loved, that they belong and that they can freely explore what it means to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. As we pursue our relationship with God He shows us the changes we need to make and He gives us the power through His Holy Spirit to live in a way that is pleasing to Him.

We are committed to living by faith
Hebrews 11:1 (NLT)

Faith is seeing beyond the now. It is reaching forward for all that God has planned and purposed for us collectively and individually. It is a spirit that looks for the God factor in every aspect of life. We want to be a forward looking, forward moving people but this requires a confidence in God that He is able to supernaturally lead and empower us for the challenges and changes that living progressively requires.

We are committed to becoming healthier individuals
James 1:2-4 (NLT)

Our desire is to be healthy not just happy. We believe wholeness and growth comes as a result of health and balance. We do not sacrifice long term success for short term satisfaction. Some decisions do not bring instant gratification, often the initial result is some degree of pain (like exercising) but we know that these decisions are vital for long term health and well-being.

We are committed to impact locally and influence globally.
Matthew 5:14-16 (NLT)

We want to be one church in multiple locations. Each local churches will impact its local community but our vision is not limited to one community or one location. We want to have the heart and vision of God that goes beyond us and our needs and desires and reach out to the lost and the hurting wherever we a called to go.

We are committed to mentor, value and release the next generation.
Proverbs 22:6 (NLT)

We are are generational church. We value and embrace all age groups. We have ministries for all ages and we want all our people to be actively engaged in ministry. While we value every person we are deliberate in wanting to continually reach out to, raise and release every emerging generation. This is not just our mandate it is our future.

We are committed to bring passionate life changing worship experiences.
Psalm 84:1-4 (NLT)

Passion creates an expectation. Expectation creates passion. Together they produce a spirit of faith where people encounter God. Jesus came so every person could have a personal encounter with God. We believe passionate worship creates an atmosphere for God’s presence and for people to personally experience Him. We do not want to be just going through the motions of doing church but we believe being present and being passionate in worship can make a difference not only in our life but also in the lives of those around us.
